Tony Romo’s Regular Season Stats Are Impressive

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

With his first full regular season complete, Tony Romo has compiled an impressive resume of stats, that would leave most seasoned quarterbacks with their mouths watering. If it wasn’t for the phenomenal seasons that veteran legends Tom Brady and Brett Favre had this season, Tony would easily have been the number one ranked quarterback this year. My hats off to those two phenomenal players, but lets remember, this is Romo’s first full season, and he is already near the top! There hopefully will be many, many seasons to be the top QB in the league…

At any rate, I have compiled Tony Romo’s impressive stats over the past 16 games, and it is very, very impressive:

  • 335/520 Completion vs. Attempts
  • 64.5% Completion Percentage
  • 4211 Total Yards
  • 8.1 Yards Per Attempt
  • 36 Passing Touchdowns
  • 19 Interceptions (5 in one game)
  • Sacked 24 times
  • 97.4 Quarterback Rating

Take away those 5 interceptions from the Buffalo Bills’ game (in which the Cowboys still amazingly won) and these stats are thru the roof. Even the non-Cowboys fans will have to agree that this is a superior performance by basically a ‘rookie’.
